Vote for Experience

Lisa Conyers, Incumbent

Area 3, Riverside County Board of Education

Ballot Statement

June 3, 2008, Consolidated Primary Election

I am completing my fifth year on the County Board of Education, serving currently as President. As the incumbent, I will continue to maintain an environment of high achievement for County students and dignified professional conditions for teachers and staff. I have visited and learned of initiatives at many schools throughout our region. My voice on the Board has been heard in setting policy for the County Office. I am well versed in the duties of the Board, and well qualified to hold this office. I was elected by my peers to serve as Board President and Vice President, and to two terms as a representative to the County School Boards Association. I hold a strong record of community leadership and have been recognized with commendations and achievement awards. I am an educator with a Ph.D. degree, have lived and worked in Spain and Mexico and am bilingual, and served as a Fulbright Exchange Administrator to Thailand. I am now Vice President of Educational Services at the Moreno Valley Campus of Riverside Community College. I know Area 3, and I know our County. I commit my abilities and energy to continuing to serve you. Thank you for your vote.
